• Take daily (1 tsp) either by itself or dissolved in warm water.

Tip: Has your honey crystalised or started to become too thick ? If so, this is totally normal, natural and a characteristic of raw honey. Crystalised honey is just as edible and tasty as liquid honey. However, if you do not enjoy the texture, you can soften the honey by placing the jar in warm water. After a few minutes and a stir, the honey should return to its liquid state.

Warning: For active honeys, it is recommended not to heat the honey above 45 degrees, which can reduce the activity and healing benefits.

Our honey is 100% Australian Manuka Honey. Manuka honey, while being enjoyed for its delicious and unique taste, has been known for its natural antibiotic properties and health benefits and has been used throughout history. 

The health benefit properties of Manuka honey is tested through the naturally occurring organic compound Methylgloxal (MGO). The amount of MGO in the honey is an indication to the degree of health properties and potency of the honey. The higher the MGO number in the Manuka honey, the stronger the antimicrobial activity levels and the more potent natural medicinal benefits. 

Manuka honey is made from the nectar from the flowers of the manuka tree which is native only to parts of Australia and New Zealand. Australian Manuka is characterised by its large degree of biodiversity with over 83 species of Manuka tree, 12 of which have bioactive, medicinal properties making it ideal for providing a high quality honey.

Test, test and test again

All of our Manuka Honey batches are sent off to a laboratory for independent and routine testing to verify the MGO rating provided. We pride ourselves in our transparency and integrity and always present the MGO / NPA on each of our Manuka Honey product labels.

What is MGO?  

MGO stands for Metylgloxal which is an organic compound responsible for Manuka honey’s strong antibacterial properties.  MGO is a commonly used and globally recognised term providing the measurement of Manuka honey. 

What does UMF mean ? 

Unique Manuka Factor (UMF) is a rating system and trademark protected term which is used uniquely by New Zealand honey producers. The UMF ratings look at specific chemical markers in the honey which include MGO, DHA (dihydroxyacetone) and Leptosperin. 

What is NPA ? 

Non-Peroxide Activity (NPA) is what gives the honey its special antibiotic properties. Its level is directly related to the MGO rating and is another way to classify the potency and quality of Manuka honey.
